It is a fact that millions, if not billions are on the internet. Facebook alone has more than 1 billion users worldwide. This makes it very clear that for small businesses and network marketing individuals to get noticed in the big sea of big businesses and Internet marketers is a big proposition, seemingly difficult to overcome. However they are some strategies that can be used to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles and give you a fighting chance.
Whenever you decide to start marketing on the internet you must make a decision upfront to either hire someone or firm who is an expert in whatever niche you choose, or learn how to do this yourself. Firms more so will be expensive, and unless they can guarantee results you’ll want to weigh this option seriously. Most firms and expert individuals will purport to have testimonials, but testimonials are as good as the person that says they are good and unless you can speak directly to the person that gives the testimony, they are pretty worthless.
If as an individual you decide to take on this project yourself, a learning curve must be overcome. Learning how to develop a website can be a bit intimidating; however a blog can be started immediately once you purchase a domain name and hosting. In most cases your hosting company will even upload WordPress for you for nothing. WordPress.com and Blogger.com are two good places to begin. On both of these platforms you’ll find tutorials that will walk you through the steps so that you will be up and running very quickly.
Next, you need to test your product against the market competition by doing some research. When preparing to do your research, the Google keyword tool is your next stop in your Internet marketing adventure. This tool is free and will tell you what people are searching for on the search engines. Obviously since Google is the most used search engine right now, this is a good benchmark to use.
So, let’s say that your niche is fishing and your product is fishing lures. Go to the keyword tool and type in “fishing lures”. You will see how many people are looking for that term in a month. This may completely blow your mind because literal millions of searches may be returned. You will probably need to narrow your search term down specifics as “fishing lures” may be to broad a term, to something more along the lines of “fresh water” or” salt water fishing lures” as an example. You might try some varieties of fishing lures such as “deepwater lures”, or “night fishing lures for catching bass”.
The point here is to find a keyword, or a keyword phrase that is being searched for from 50,000 times a month and up, and the competition shows weak, then you have a winner. This will take some time but pays off hugely in the long term. It is very important that you build your blog around that keyword phrase to give yourself a better chance of ranking high in the search engines. Try to incorporate the keyword phrase into the URL, the title of the blog and use in two to three times in the body of the description of your blog.
If you get this technique correct, you are going to get loads of organic traffic from the major search engines. Going forward you’ll discover other key words that rank in a similar way and if you choose to, build blogs around those keywords. Remember you can have several blogs pulling in traffic to sell your fishing lures. Who said that having an internet marketing business can’t be fun!
