SHEBOYGAN – Charter Communications customers throughout eastern Wisconsin were without services Friday morning due to damage to a fiber-optic cable.

Customers experienced a video, internet, and phone outage due to a fiber cut caused by a company doing roadwork near Fond du Lac at around 7 a.m., according to a statement from Charter Communications.

This cut impacted customers in and around Fond du Lac, Door County, Sheboygan and West Bend.

Services were restored just after 10 a.m.

In a released statement, Charter Communications apologized for the inconvenience and said technical teams responded immediately to make the necessary repairs.
