Oh the dream! (Let that sink in!) That many people have of making money on the internet. And because of this dream, they are many websites and blogs that are and were built, dedicated to the ideal lifestyle of living on the beach, running your business with a laptop and traveling the world – all while making money on the Internet. Hmm! While some of this is in fact true and very possible, almost none of these guys speak to the hard work that preceded their dream becoming a reality. If you are not prepared to work hard upfront, then your dream will literally become a nightmare. Ask any guru you see living it up and if they are honest they will tell you of the many sleepless nights, and frustrations encountered before they were on easy street. I don’t want to deter you, I’m just stating facts.
If you are looking into Internet marketing as a way to skip the rat race, there are many factors to consider. Are you going to be an affiliate marketer, or a product owner? Are you going to specialize in SEO or building websites? And the list goes on and on. There are pros and cons, no matter what you choose – it really depends on your personality and skill set on which one you will become an authority in. Mark my word; you’ll need to become an authority to be taken more seriously by your audience.
My advice to you is, if you’re just getting started with Internet marketing, it is often best to become an affiliate marketer. That’s just my 2 cents. My reason for telling you this is because you can start making money quickly if you do it right. You can also use the wisdom you learn to later create a product of your own.
There are many courses that you can buy on the Internet that will teach you how to go about becoming an Internet marketer. However you should exercise caution with most of this information because there is a lot of hype, lies, deception and trickery out there. There are a lot of false promises and information that no longer works. What is that old saying again? “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is”
It really is unfortunate that many new Internet marketers have been led down the wrong path and have spent a lot of money on outdated information. This can lead to frustration and ultimately failure as an Internet marketer. Don’t let this happen to you! You should be sceptical of any guarantees or promises made that will make you rich soon. “I guarantee you that this software, will generate $23’456.00 in 24hrs”. “Yeah right” Remember we’re talking internet marketing here, and while it is possible to generate that money from your email list or product launch, you aren’t selling drugs.
As for which courses and information that you should purchase, look for case studies that are recent and from reputable sources. Google the coaches you come across and whose email lists you are on. Join a few forums and start networking with other people. Within a short time you will make new friends and they can also help steer you in the right direction.
After a while of being an affiliate marketer, it’s time to step it up and consider owning your own product in the normal progression of things. It’s now your time to be the product owner and have affiliates promoting your products. This is where the real money is. You should also consider traffic sources such as pay per click or search engine optimization to capture leads. Social media and other organic traffic sources like article directories are great ways to create backlinks to your website as well. Finally you should have an efficient sales automation funnel to help convert leads into sales.
Clearly you can see that there are several things you’ll need to consider when starting your own Internet marketing business. However if you stay consistent, work hard and don’t give up you’ll most likely find success and finally be able to quit your job on your terms! One of the greatest rewards in life is the ability to pursue and realize whatever goal you have set. I dare you to go after your dreams and no matter how daunting the task is before you, Get It Done!
