Those who live in the south-central Wisconsin area and receive internet through Charter Communications will soon receive a boost in speed.
In an Aug. 9 press release, Charter Communications announced it will start offering Spectrum Internet Gig and Spectrum Business Internet Gig to its south central Wisconsin service areas. The services provide internet speeds of up to 1 gigabyte for residential customers and small to mid-sized businesses in the Madison TV viewing market. The company is also increasing its starting speed to 200 mbps in the south central Wisconsin area.
Senior Manager of Communications Kimberly Noetzel said the affected areas include Reedsburg, Baraboo, Portage, Wisconsin Dells, Lyndon Station, Rock Springs and Lake Delton.
“We are really committed to providing the very best technology and the fastest speeds to our customers,” Noetzel said. “We are really excited to be able to launch gig in the area and upgrade our customers speeds.”
A small percentage of Spectrum Internet customers will be contacted by the company if a new modem is needed, which will be available at no additional charge, according to the release. Spectrum Internet Gig is available to more than 70 percent of the company’s footprint and will be available throughout virtually all of Spectrum’s 41-state service area by the end of 2018.
