Lots of people online are saying September 24 2022 will be the end of the world, and The Simpsons has predicted it too.

The conspiracy theory emerged this week thanks to an ominous video of a German chancellor and fears of a huge solar flare.

Internet users are running wild with the idea and September 24 has become the latest viral doomsday date on TikTok.

Now, many are discovering that The Simpsons predicted the end of the world on September 24 too, which makes the whole thing even creepier…

The Simpsons predicts end of the world

On many occasions, Matt Groening’s animated comedy has predicted real life events, and an old episode about the end of the world is freaking out internet users.

In the episode titled “Homer Goes to Prep School,” Homer joins a survivalist group whose leader has set up a retreat to prepare for the end of the world.

A clip has gone viral online that sees Homer talking about the “looming kablooey” and predicting that a huge explosion is going to take place.

“The apocalypse is coming. Maybe not tomorrow, maybe never, but it’s coming,” he says as he shows sceptical Marge his bug out bags and apocalypse supplies.

The Simpsons episode is about the end of the world, but what does that have to do with September 24? Well, just wait until you find out the episode number.

The episode number is 24/9

The end of the world episode is Season 24 Episode 9, which when put together, weirdly makes the date 24/9, or September 24th.

This feeds into the conspiracy theory perfectly which sees TikTok users predicting September 24 2022 will be doomsday.

The date has gone viral online this month as people online predict all kinds of bad things will happen that will cause the end of the world.

The Simpsons apocalypse episode makes things even creepier, and lots of people are feeling uneasy on TikTok.

In the comments of one video, someone wrote: “I know I can’t be the only one freaking out about this.”

“Oh my, another weird Simpsons prediction,” said another.

A third person added: “Omg this gave me the chills. They mentioned bug out bags too.”

Denver giving out free bug out bags

If the Simpsons prediction wasn’t weird enough already, the government in Denver is giving away free Bug Out Bags as part of National Preparedness Month.

A bug out bag is a survival kit containing the basic tools and supplies you would need to survive in an emergency.

In the episode, Homer shows Marge his bug out bags that he has stored in the basement in preparation for the end of the world.

This month, DenverREADY is giving out bug out bags to help its community prepare for emergencies and disasters, which social media users think is little strange.

However, The Denver Office of Emergency Management has shut down the conspiracy theories which suggest the city has knowledge that something bad is going to happen.

“We have been alerted that a conspiracy theory network is circulating a video on social media claiming that our Bug Out Bag giveaway for National Preparedness Month is the result of a known or anticipated disaster,” they said.

“We want to reassure the community that the claims made in this video are clearly false. Our office’s mission is to create a safe, prepared, and resilient community.”
