Apple acquires Coherent Navigation to compete with Google Maps

Location services have never been a strong hold for Apple.

trying to make necessary changes and following that it has acquired a company
called Coherent Navigation, as per reports from MacRumours. The acquired company boasts
of a strong location detecting technology that is said to be accurate within
As the name suggests the company deals with location and
navigation services. It was founded in 2008 and since then has been focussing
on a specific range of navigation technologies. They have partnered with
industry giants like Boeing and Iridium.
Apple has not expressed its intentions regarding the
acquisition, but the company will probably include the start-up’s research in
its ongoing projects or develop an entirely new service with the help of their
