Rumour are abound about the next generation of Samsung
Galaxy Note-series handsets. It appears that there are going to be two variants
of the phablet — the regular version and the one with the curved display.
The regular version will be called Galaxy Note 5 and will have a regular screen. While the other variant, currently codenamed Project
Zen, is likely to have a new dual-edge display.
The Galaxy Note 5 is rumoured to have a either a SuperAMOLED 2K (1600×2560) or 4K
(2160×3840) display. The phone will be powered by Samsung’s in house Exynos
7422 processor. This Exynos processor will supposedly be the company’s first
all-in-one solution as it will house the main CPU, graphics chip, on-board storage,
RAM and a few radios all on one single chip, quite like the Apple’s A8
The other variant of Note 5 is codenamed Project Zen. Its screen may not have the high-resolution of the Note 5. The display is
going to be around 5.5-inch and it will be curved on two sides, similar to what Samsung puts in its Galaxy S6 Edge phone. The processor on this device
is supposedly going to be the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808. The camera for the
Project Zen will have 16-megapixel rear sensor
with optical image stabilization and for the front camera it will have an 8-megapixel
The device will also support the Note’s trademarked S Pen stylus.
