Capcom has officially unveiled new additions to the Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite roster, although there’s a chance you might have already seen them before. Jedah Dohma from the Darkstalkers series will join the ranks, as will Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy.
Jedah Dohma, Gamora Showcased In ‘Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite’
Capcom revealed Jedah Dohma during the EVO 2017 fighting game tournament, where Peter Rosas, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite‘s associate producer, picked the character in an exhibition match. Jedah won’t be the first character from Darkstalkers to join a Marvel vs. Capcom title, though. Morrigan, Felicia, and several others have already appeared in past titles as well.
Although there’s very only a few minutes’ worth of footage available at the moment, one can already glean that Jedah seems to move like his Darkstalkers iteration with spinning super and scythe attacks, though he does appear to move quicker and look a bit more modern.
Gamora, on the other hand, is looking to be more interesting with her sword attacks, which can be both short and medium range. Gamora seems mostly a sword-based fighter but is also able to use blaster attacks from afar. Players will have a field day using her as their fighter, surely.
An in-depth gameplay trailer showcasing both characters will hopefully make its way soon.
Most recently, the roster for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite leaked via NeoGAF, so Jedah’s arrival doesn’t seem to be much of a surprise for most who already saw the leak beforehand. Gamora, on the other hand, was already spotted at Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite‘s story trailer, unveiled during E3 this year.
Some have noted that Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite feels less complicated than, say, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Making the game more approachable to new players might be intentional as Capcom attempts to draw in new fans. Hopefully, this streamlining isn’t to the detriment of players looking for the same hard-core experience found on past titles.
Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite
Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite launches Sept. 19 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. For die-hard fans, Capcom unveiled a $200 collector’s edition a while back. It comes with sweet gear: interlinking dioramas from TriForce, plus LED-powered Infinity Stones enclosed in a case.
Infinite comes as the sixth main entry in the Marvel vs. Capcom series and is one of the most hyped games this year. As with the previous entries in the series, players assume the roles of character from Marvel or Capcom, duking it out in tag team battles. Announced back in December, Infinite will have more focus on storytelling than past titles.
