(NEW YORK) — Microsoft released a video on its YouTube page on Sunday promoting its upcoming Windows 10 operating system with a message of familiarity.
Titled “10 Reasons to Upgrade to Windows 10: IT’S FAMILIAR,” the video shows a number of features in the new operating system that are reminiscent of — or the same as — its predecessor. Microsoft has said that the upgrade — offered free to current Windows users — will be available as soon as July 29.
“Do familiar things,” the 46-second video says, “with the best of Windows 7 and the best of Windows 8.” Showing the “familiar” start menu and the system’s “updated” live tiles, Microsoft says that users will be able to do their “favorite things” because “your stuff comes with you.”
“Do obvious things,” the video concludes, “like upgrading to Windows 10 with the desktop you know/love only better for free.”
