Founded in 1899 by August Horch and easily identifiable by its four ringed logo, Audi motors is giving its brand enthusiasts the opportunity of test-driving its new R8 model turbocharged engine car for free under the “Supercars on Demand” program on Wednesday.
“It is inevitable that we will go to a turbocharged motor for it at some point. It would be in this model cycle, to give us a fuller range,” revealed Professor Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, while speaking on the transformations imminent on the automaker’s supercar.
Quattro GmbH Managing Director Heinz Peter Hollerweger revealed during an interview that although the 4.2-liter V8 engine is fitted with the car, equipping it with a turbocharged engine might be possible in the nearest future.
And while the company has not really said much in this regard, analysts believe the turbocharged 2.5-liter 5 cylinder engine, or even a twin-turbo V6 engine would be used for the new car.
In order to have a personal experience of these new model of wonder cars, people could make use of the Uber app between 1 pm and 4 pm to choose a preferred supercar for test-driving. The company allows drivers to choose from a set of nine luxury cars, and these include exotic cars, pre-owned cars, and some with classy options.
Apart from test-driving them, anyone with the ability to purchase one can immediately do so at the venue and the car will be his to drive home.
And by the way, the four-ringed logo on Audi cars signified the merging of Audi, DKW, Horch, and Wanderer together to form the Audi brand you know today; and it is one of Germany’s oldest car manufacturers.
