Supply of the sun-kissed model is limited.
The wait is over: US consumers can now order the OnePlus 3 “Soft Gold” smartphone for $399.
But this isn’t your typical gaudy gold smartphone, OnePlus assures buyers. “We’ve toned the color down for a light, elegant look,” team member Steven Gao wrote in a forum post. “We went with a subtle texture reminiscent of holding fine, silky soft sand.”
Supply of the sun-kissed Soft Gold model is limited; Gao recommends ordering one “before the first batch of devices runs out.”
The OnePlus 3 debuted in February and arrived in June—no invite required. Powered by the Android-based OxygenOS, the 5.5-inch OnePlus 3 features a 1080p Full HD display, customizable navigation keys, and a fingerprint sensor to quickly and securely unlock the phone.
It also boasts a 3,000 mAh battery and Dash Charge, which can replenish 60 percent of the battery in only 30 minutes, as well as an 8-megapixel front camera and 16-megapixel rear shooter.
The Soft Gold version will launch in Canada, Europe, and Hong Kong on Aug. 1; an exact release date for India is coming “soon.” Those looking for something a little more understated can also pick up the handset in gray.
