The 2016 Cadillac CTS-V is here to stay for quite a long run. The initial reviews suggest that the Cadillac CTS-V might just be the car in response to BMW’s M5. Cadillac is basically well known for the sedate cars that it makes. But the CTS-V is certainly a glorified exception. There is no doubt of the fact that the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V has a lot but one might just as well be skeptical enough to think that whether it has enough to topple BMW’s M5.
BMW’s M5 has been considered the leader in the class of luxury performance sedan. On the other hand, 2016 Cadillac CTS-V also has quite some stuff under the hood to make it a top contender for the top spot. The 2016 Cadillac CTS-V comes with a pretty powerful engine coupled with a 6.2 liter supercharged V8 rated system. The beast can garner up to 640 hp and a torque of 630 lb/ft, which is very much similar to that of the Corvette Z06.
The new 2016 Cadillac CTS-V has been tested to reach 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds, which is approximately 0.01 seconds less than BMW’s M5. On the other hand, CTS-V docks a top speed in excess of 200 mph, which is in turn quite impressive of a luxury sedan of its class. The Riding feel and handling has been compared to that of a Super Sedan as the Cadillac CTS-V holds a four-piston Brembos in the rear along with six-piston Brembo brakes in front. The added points are the Michelin Pilot Super Port Tires and Cadillac’s very own Magnetic Ride Control Shocks.
It will certainly be a debatable question that whether the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V is good enough to beat BMW’s M5, but the car is certainly among the very best of its class.
