This is the age of a radical reform, greatly affecting just about every sector of our life. Technological advancements appear to be running rampant, without a perceived ceiling in sight! Can you remember when the sky used to be the limit? That limit was seemingly replaced with space! But, wouldn’t you think that extraterrestrial exploration would have some type of sensible cap? Nope! Not for greedy, needy, beady ass man! Because, even the outer space limit is being threatened to be surpassed by the talk about reaching other universes! I just have a sensible question to pose, and please answer this honestly. Doesn’t that sound ridiculous? LOL! I am going to help you out a bit, and answer that question for you! ABSOLUTELY! It sounds ridiculous, simply because it is ridiculous!
Let me point this out. The only thing that stays the same, is change.
But, here’s my old paradoxical right hook for ya! The more things change, the more things stay the same!
As technology continues to grow and develop at such a profound paste, the truth is, we are unable to keep up! Because, once you become familiar with an operating system, a new one is on the market! Once you become acquainted with your new car, guess what? A brand-new model is on the market! Soon as you break in those new boots, and you guessed it! New ones are on the market! Just when you thought you knew everything about your cool little smartphone, a new smarter phone is just arriving at the store! On and on this pattern of hyper proliferation goes. It’s almost like technology is the sector that has been infected with this digital cancer of some sort! Clearly, we can’t keep up!
Here’s the good news! We don’t have to keep up! Because, not only is it practically impossible for us to keep up with, but eventually, we may need to go backwards. Don’t let that alarm you, though. Because, backwards, may prove to be the new forward!
You don’t get the grass without the dirt! Because, the grass needs the dirt! So, No dirt, then no grass! If you truly want the good, then you also must accept the bad. Because, if you’re unwilling to accept the bad, then clearly, you don’t want the good enough!
Technology has done some great things for us! It has allowed us to mass produce with a profound efficiency. It has even helped us reach states of untold perfections, precisions, and uniformity! It has truly introduced us to new realms of supernatural ease, ushered utter power into the palms of our hands, and it has revolutionized even the way we date! You used to have to travel to meet a Chinese wife! Now, all you need is a few swipes of a hand! Forget about plane tickets, and packing suitcases, and booking hotel reservations, and finding a car rental agency, and trying to learn a new language! Who needs to go through all that stuff? That would easily cost $4 to $6 thousand dollars! Now, with the help of technology, we can get the same job done with just under 100 bucks simply by paying our monthly cell phone bill! Now, that’s the grass part of the equation!
Now, for the dirt part of the equation. This new technology has robbed the airline industry! Because we don’t need to buy that $2,000-dollar ticket! It has robbed the hotel company too! Because they went into business to provide a temporary home for the people who will visit. It has taken food out of the mouth of the car rental employees. It has affected just about everyone! All that money that could have been circulated into a global economy! Even the user here in question has lost out too! Because, instead of being a visitor, a tourist and getting a chance to get out and see and do new things, meet new people, go new places, they can simply remain put right where they are. So, it’s not just impacting one country, but the impact is a global reaching slap in the face for many industries all at once!
Technology is also making us stupid, lazy, and physically weak. At one time in history, students would go to school, and carry their books on their back. Now, some schools have done completely away with books for their learning curriculums! The students simply use a notebook computer instead! So, they now have the supernatural strength to carry around 3 volumes of entire encyclopedias! Ain’t that some heavy stuff? Who needs to put priority on penmanship, when we can just type it out now?
If that’s not enough dirt, everything seems to have a camera, and a GPS system, and a monitoring mechanism, so now, privacy is becoming obsolete with the rise of technology.
Wait… Let me put you back on track now! Because I know what you might be thinking.
The truth is, the world is just balancing itself out. Man is truly brilliant, but so smart that S/He so stupid!
We are reaching the period where we will begin to witness things slow down considerably. Things are going to slow down, but not because man is so much in control. Things are going to slow down because there is a higher power which governs all of life and all of technology too. It is of a poor faith or understanding to believe that technology will be the end of us. Understand, that man is the creator of technology, and therefore, when it comes to man vs man’s creation, the creation will need to be let go of.
Let us stay on track here.
Some old classics are getting ready to be reintroduced into this digital market where technology is king. But, if we examine what is under the hood, we are going to find an old school foundation, just with a new polished face!
If you are a very technical person now, your best bet is to begin looking backwards. I know this might sound hard to digest, but I am very convinced that we have hit a wall. We must, therefore, bounce off that wall, and head in the opposite direction, now. This means, that you should begin researching history! Consider the past and learn what you missed out on.
This is also an age where we are becoming much richer and richer! We have bigger houses, and have more fluid cash, and enjoy more amenities and treasures!
With all that extra dough, I am advising you to build a library! That’s right, as crazy as it might sound. Build yourself a decent size library. Then, begin collecting as many books of references, of novels and manuscripts too, and just be patient. It will come in handy.
The sheer truth is, too much of a good thing can be bad. We need to exercise some self-discipline, and self-restraint. We need to become more responsible consumers, by taking the direct initiative to curtail our technology addictions. Because, if we don’t, then we will suffer profound withdrawal symptoms that may prove to be our complete demise when it hits the fan.
Take your eyes off that smart phone and let the internet and computer rest. Consider more family time together by restricting all computer usage, laptops, cell phones, tablets, and all heavy electronics. Use this time to build and grow and develop together as a united family and people. Because, it is this connection that is the only thing that will be able to withstand a major technological meltdown! It’s only a matter of time, so you better be ready!
