In a slip-up (or last-minute attempt to arouse interest) Samsung has released pre-registration details of the Galaxy S6 Edge+.
Just a couple of days before its August 13th announcement, Samsung France (the post has now been removed) has revealed the S6 Edge+ will be available for pre-order from August 21st until September 3rd. The accompanying picture isn’t particularly groundbreaking: the S6 Edge+ looks as expected from previous leaks.
The S6 Edge+ will be released with music apps in mind: the release picture of Samsung Level Headphones, and the ‘Google Google Play Musique’ logo are accompanied by promises of offers on the headphones, and three months worth of unlimited music, for those who pre-order S6 Edge+. It’s not clear if this is a promotion limited to French customers, or available worldwide.
What is clear is that the Edge+ looks as we expected it to look, thanks to endless leaked images over the last two months. The Edge+ will be almost physically identical to the Galaxy S6 Edge (save for its elongated frame), and look very similar to the Note 5. Without an S6 Edge placed alongside it for scale, it’d be near impossible to distinguish between the two devices if it wasn’t for the “S6Edge+” branding.
Under the hood, things are slightly different. The Edge+ is rumoured to include a much larger 3000mAh battery, 4GB of RAM and a larger 5.7-inch display.
Samsung’s Big Day
The upcoming Unpacked event on the 13th is shaping up to be an important day for Samsung. Not just because Samsung is launching new devices, but because of the importance the company’s placing on these new handsets.
