Not long ago, I got a very interesting call from a young man, a student in the UK who’d read one of my cellphone technology pieces. You see, he was thinking about the same thing I was considering with regards to where all this Smart Phone, iPad, Tablet, and eBook Reader personal technology is going. Specifically, where will we be in 5-years from now? And so he stated and asked;
“Where is it [smart phone technology] all going? It is starting to fascinate me with how fast the cellphones are changing. I am just a 23 year old college student but already I see huge changes. Wondering if you could help me on this topic as I see you are interested in the cell phone industry as well. Do you know of any smart phone industry websites or portals online?”
Now then, I am going to tell you exactly what I explained to him that day. You see, I am fascinated by the future of the cell-phone technology and the innovations in the smart phone sector. Even more interested in the applications being developed and how social-media is all going mobile, and also intrigued by what that means for the future of human societies and civilizations.
Wow, you know 23-years old is a great place to be right now – your world is much different from what I grew up in. I had one of the very first cell phones, nothing close to today’s technology, but I can tell you it sure helped my business back then, I was the age you are now.
As far as cell phone industry website portals, hmm? Well, I guess I do not know of any I could recommend really. My view is that the tablets, and smart phones will be merging into one device, and folks will choose which one they want and from which manufacturer. Each having variations of the current personal tech devices such as; eReaders, Tablets, Smart Phone, Holographic Displays, GPS, ID device, iPod music, Personal Health Device, electronic payment wallet, notebooks, etc. – all-in-one!
In 5-years I am certain that spectral imaging and holographic projection smart phones will be the new thing, video in 3D is next, but then it won’t be long before holographic technologies hit the scene. That’s where I believe we shall be in a half a decade. But I ask my readers, to tell me your thoughts too.
Indeed, if you’d like I would like to continue this conversation with you, so you may shoot me an email, and then we can kick around some future thoughts on the topic, if you want? Yes, let’s continue this conversation, as it will help me write more articles, and get me thinking on the future. Please consider all this.
