A turnkey web business is a fully-automated, self-sufficient, and established Internet business that is based on an existing business model. It is somewhat analogous to franchising a traditional “brick and mortar” business in that you are buying into an existing system. However, with a turnkey web business, you have the freedom to market, brand, and customize the business as you see fit.
The licensing business typically provides you with all of the tools you need to get set up:
· Web hosting account
· Website HTML templates that you can customize
· A payment processing system
· Access to the business vendor’s inventory of products or services
· Marketing materials
Once you set up the technical aspects of your website and it becomes fully functional, all you have to do then, is market the business. Your sole focus should be on providing exposure for your website and bringing customers to it. Other than that, it is a fully automated, self-sustaining website.
You will of course need to occasionally check up on the business, to see how much traffic your website is receiving, how many sales you are receiving, which products or services the customers are buying (if your website sells multiple items), and to make any modifications or tweaks as necessary to improve or streamline your business.
In many cases, the vendor may even be responsible for all communication with your customers. If not, then you would have the opportunity to communicate directly with them.
For marketing purposes, even though the turnkey business provider will give you a web address (URL) for your own business, it might be to your advantage to set up your own domain name.
The business provider may even provide you with an e-mail account as well. Otherwise, when you sign up for your own domain name, you can typically also get a free e-mail address with it.
Essentially, a turnkey web business provides you with all of the tools to get up and running with an existing, proven revenue-generating website. All you have to do is market it and maintain it.
