LAG or Link Aggregation Group is a feature of AWS Direct Connect (DX). Use in cases where there are multiple AWS DX connections between on-premises and AWS Cloud that can be pooled for a large aggregate performance.
For example: There are 02 10Gbps DX lines, which can be combined into 1 20Gbps line.
However, to be able to configure AWS LAG you need to ensure the following conditions:
- All links in LAG must be in active/active mode
- All connections in the same LAG must have the same bandwidth. For example, 1Gbps cannot add a 10Gbps line…
- Maximum number of DX connections per LAG: 4
- All DX Connections must terminate in the same AWS DX Endpoint.
