AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) — Leaders in Augusta County are making progress on ways to bring broadband internet service to areas that desperately need it.
The new broadband internet committee met Thursday night.
Members had an update on several grant applications they have applied for, to get internet access in the Deerfield and Middlebrook areas.
“It’s important. We’re competitive we feel like if we keep submitting these we’ll get some and we’ll continue to expand internet in Augusta County,” said Augusta County board member Marshall Pattie.
The next steps will be for the Augusta County Board of Supervisors to approve the applications before submitting them off to the state.
