Comcast to expand internet service in Cape Coral

CAPE CORAL, Fla. – Diplomat Pkwy in Cape Coral is one of the many areas dealing with slow internet service.

But pretty soon, people who live in this area won’t have that issue.

In an effort to provide better internet service, the City of Cape Coral has entered into an agreement with Comcast to extend its cable system.

The city plans to contribute $500,000 to the project and Comcast will collect a share of the costs as well to extend its facilities.

Comcast is expected to start work within the next 14 days after permits are granted.

The estimated completion date for this new service is expected to take up to six months.

The total project cost is estimated at over $14 million.
