The company has apologised for the outage and said they are working to restore the service
SOME Eir customers have been left without an internet connection this afternoon.
A number of people have taken to social media to report the issue to the company.
One said: “@Eir no broadband in Blackrock area?”
Another added: “@eircare hi the broadband seems to be down here in Loughanure Annagry, is there a fault on the line or in the area?”
Someone else wrote: “@eircare any issues with network? Data not working properly on my end.”
Eir said they are investigating the cause of the outage – but do not yet have an estimated time for restoration.
They wrote on Twitter: “We are fully aware of the current internet issue (DNS outage) and our higher officials are investigating on this matter.
“However, there is no ETA for restoration.
“We’re sorry for the inconvenience & appreciate your patience.”
