VESTAL (WBNG) — High-speed fiber optic internet provider Greenlight Networks had its grand opening at its new location in the Southern Tier on Wednesday morning.
The new Greenlight offices are located at 4100 Vestal Rd., Ste. 206 in Vestal and will include construction, engineering and field technicians.
The company currently provides its services to around 80,000 homes in 20 municipalities in the Rochester, Buffalo and Binghamton areas. It’s expanding to Albany this fall.
Greenlight Networks is investing $50 million dollars with the goal to expand low-cost broadband internet to 50,000 homes by 2023.
By then, Greenlight plans to have 30 employees and provide hundreds of local contractors with work upgrading the utility infrastructure across the area.
Construction is underway on Binghamton’s West Side and neighborhoods in Endwell.
Greenlight Networks was founded by Binghamton native, President & CEO Mark Murphy in 2011.
