WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Walton County is bringing high speed internet to all residents.
The Board of County Commissioners approved a $3.5 million agreement to have a wireless internet provider bring Wi-Fi to all homes.
Commissioner Danny Glidewell said residents in his district have been waiting for this for a long time.
“This solves so many problems, a lot of companies don’t want to come to a place that doesn’t have high-speed internet, so this is an economic development piece, but also the recent difficulties have shown that our school children if they have to do schoolwork at home, they can’t do it in most of the county because there’s no internet,” said Glidewell.
The service would be provided to residents for between 25 and 60 dollars.
It will start being set up in the north part of the county this summer.
