One of the issues that many people are facing today is having to cut back on certain extra expenses because money is tight. One thing that might have to be cut is your cable bill. Below we will discuss how you can get rid of your cable subscription but still have plenty of things that you can watch.

Finish up the shows that you are currently watching. Many get sucked into new shows while there old ones are being cancelled. Just make up your mind to finish off the shows you enjoy and not watch new ones. Then you will not be tempted to continue paying for cable.

Limit your cable access at first. Cut down to the basic package to help you save some money. Most of the time you do not get the value of out the money for the premium channels as there is only so much time to watch them anyway.

Go online and look for alternatives. Most major networks offer free episodes online that you can watch. When you have a broadband connection, it is easy to watch these without having to wait at all. This can replace your cable.

Use free online sites like Hulu. This site has tons of episodes and movies that you can watch for free. You have plenty to watch just from this one method alone that you might not need cable.

Use the money you save on your cable subscription to buy or rent episodes or movies online. Amazon and iTunes are the major players that sell and rent out tons of digital content. You will get exactly what you want and will save money when too busy to watch anything on cable.

Wait for box sets to come out of your favorite shows. You can rent or even borrow these to watch them. This makes your television watching very cheap if it is done this way.
