Internet College Courses enrollment has been rising at about 30% per year over the last 7 years. So why are people flocking out of the classrooms and onto the internet to get a college education?
This article is going to talk about some of the things that make internet college courses so much better than normal classroom college courses.
You learn on your time
As a college student myself, I can’t tell you how much time is wasted in classrooms learning at someone else’s pace. Many times the instructors ramble aimlessly without even covering material that appears on the exams anyway.
So what’s the point of attending class? The instructor rambles about nonsense and I could learn more on my own. Because many classic institutions still take attendance and will actually fail you if you miss too many classes.
This is a great reason why you should consider internet college classes. There’s no attendance and you can learn on your time and not your instructor’s.
Student-centered learning
Many online college courses place heavy emphasis on student-centered learning by using forums and message boards to get the students involved. The instructor will oversee and moderate the forums, but in order to make a good grade you must participate on the online discussions.
This is great for many people who don’t like to speak up in class. It is much easier to type out an intelligent message and communicate with individuals that are truly interested in learning. Which leads me to my last point…
Online Students are more mature
Online students are usually older, more experienced and learned in the field they are taking internet college courses for, and this provides much more intelligent and mature online discussions.
On the other end, many college students are fresh out of high school and are only attending the college campus because that is what their parents wanted them to do after they graduated.
