Internet interest form posted on county website | News

As previously reported, Oconee County has contracted with Charter Communications to bring high-speed broadband service to underserved areas of the county.

The county is using federal relief dollars to subsidize the two-year internet initiative. Charter is in the process of setting up a portal for those who would be eligible. This is for areas of the county lacking connectivity, rather than for those wishing to switch companies.

In the interim, citizens can indicate their interest by submitting their address on a form available on the county website.

Visit and click on the tab called “Broadband Project Interest Portal.”
