UPDATE (Tuesday evening):
EPB says it has fixed an issue giving many across our area internet issues Tuesday, and that services are fully restored. Officials say if you’re still experiencing issues, reset your router and other equipment.
EPB released the following statement Tuesday evening:
“EPB Fiber Optics has restored services following an equipment failure that resulted in internet outages and slow speeds for about two hours. We regret any negative impacts experienced by our customers. We are constantly striving to enhance Chattanooga’s community-wide fiber optic network and will utilize this experience to identify ways to further strengthen the system.”
Having internet issues Tuesday? EPB officials say they are aware, and are working to fix it.
In a tweet, EPB says they’re working as quickly as possible on an issue that is impacting internet and possibly other services in the area.
Our engineers are trying to reach out to EPB for more information. Their support number — 423-648-1372 — appears to be busy.
Right now, it’s not clear what the issue is, or how long it is expected to impact our area, but people have reached out to us asking the same question: What’s happening?
We’re looking into this, and will update you when we know more.
