The Miami Heat dropped Game 3 of their second-round NBA Playoff series on Friday night to the Philadelphia 76ers.
In a game that saw Philly have all the momentum, being at home for the first time in the series, the return of Joel Embiid, and with the way they had dropped the first two games of the series, they came out looking like the sharper team from the onset.
Now, that isn’t to say that either team was especially sharp, as the game looked like something from the 70s or 80s at times but either way and to that level of play, Philly was the sharper unit. Even still, it took an all-time low performance from the Miami Heat to lose this one.
Often winning most of their games where they hold the opponent to less than 100 points, 99 for the 76ers in Game 3, the Miami Heat couldn’t produce for themselves. They would only score 79 points in this one, their second-worst offensive showing of the year behind a 78-point outing back in November against Boston, the beginning parts of the season.
The Miami Heat dropped Game 3 on Friday and Joel Embiid took to social media afterward. He wasn’t alone though, as Jimmy Butler responded… hilariously.
Knowing that this one wasn’t a clear and total picture of what the Miami Heat are, it’s safe to write this one off as a terrible game from them, though at the most inopportune time. They’ll be better moving forward, because that’s their basketball DNA but also because they just can’t get any worse than that, right?
With that though, the real show came after the game on social media. In a postgame post to his own personal social media account, Embiid had something to say about his mask.
Jimmy Butler also had a response. See for yourself.
Well, that about says it all. Knowing that they share a close relationship, this is typical Jimmy.
However, there is still probably a certain sense of sincerity there from the leader and best player on the Miami Heat team. The only thing Jimmy Butler hates more than T.J. Warren is losing.
It’s just not the way he’s put together. It doesn’t jive well with the way he lives, works, and plays.
You can be sure that, even with this little fun-loving internet troll situation here, Jimmy wasn’t pleased by Friday. He means this, to a certain extent, and you’ll see it as soon as they take the court again.
On top of it all though, it’s just hilarious. You just have to love Jimmy.
