The Kmart closure is causing Quincy businesses to monitor how they attract customers.
The co-owner of Second String Music said it’s tough for stores to battle against online shopping.
Rodney Hart said as big box retail stores continue to fold, he’s making sure his store is always watching internet prices.
“We try as best we can to be as competitive as we can with the Internet,” Hart said. “In Quincy, that’s our number one competition, is the Internet. We have to match those sales prices as much as we can, especially for the bigger ticket items. We match the Internet.”
Hart also said the experience of interacting with workers and coming downtown is part of what brings customers to his shop.
