Odisha: Internet services snapped in Keonjhar after clash | Bhubaneswar News

BHUBANESWAR: Internet services were snapped in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Tuesday, a day after a clash between two communities in Joda township injured some civilians and police personnel.
Keonjhar SP Mitrabhanu Mahapatra said the internet services had been temporarily suspended as a precautionary measure though the situation was under control with no fresh incident of violence.
Police sources said nine platoon forces have been deployed in Joda town where tension had sparked over not allowing a religious procession by a section of people. Prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC have been clamped in the township.
The mineral-rich Keonjhar district is home to a huge reserve of iron ore, manganese and limestone.
