Program Your Direct TV DVR From The Internet!

It’s difficult to imagine life without a DVR device. You can program to record all of your favorite shows, skip recording reruns and still watch television while you’re doing it. You can skip commercials and pause live TV so you can do something else if needed. In short, the DVR is a fantastic device. Direct TV has kicked up their DVR offering somewhat. You can now program your DVR from anywhere.

That’s right, from anywhere. If you have a desktop, laptop, cell phone or PDA, you can check the Direct TV schedule, select the events that you want to record and make it happen. All while you’re not even home. This means no more realizing that you forgot to set the DVR before you left home. Just use your device and set it remotely.

Any and all of your home DVR units can be set this way. If you have more than one DVR in your home, you can select the DVR you wish the program to be recorded on and press the button. If there are multiple shows that coincide, you can record on each of your DVRs at the same time. Just set it up the same way.

Setting this up is a piece of cake. First you have to register. Just got to the Direct TV website (DirecTV.com) and register your system. From that point, you can log into their website through a computer or through your cell phone and access it. (You’ll need to use m.directv.com for mobile devices) It really is as simple as that. The convenient “record” button next to each listing will let you select the programs that you want.

You get a complete guide for all your available programming. Simply select what you want to record, when you want to record and what DVR to record it on. In addition, you can prioritize your recordings so that what you really want gets recorded first, preempting any existing programming. Your shows will record exactly as if you were using your remote control to set your recording options.

It’s difficult to imagine anyone that this can’t benefit. If you’re stuck in traffic and don’t want to miss your favorite show, you can log on through the phone or PDA. If you’re running late at the office, you can log in through your desktop computer. If there is something that your children wanted to watch, but forgot to mention before your left, you can access the guide and set it up.

Direct TV offers customers this ability as a convenience factor and to show them that the company is continually working towards making their systems more easily accessed and better able to fit a variety of different needs.
