Soon Malaysians will have more internet broadband choices to choose from once Singapore’s ViewQwest enters the market.
Touted as the Lion City’s fastest internet service provider by internet speed tester, Ookla, the broadband company will be partnering with TM to tap into the Malaysian market.
Currently, folks living in selected areas in Klang Valley and Johor are already enjoying internet services provided by the company, according to Soyacincau.
But the company is going to bring competition to the market when it begins rolling out its services to other areas some time in June or July.
Through TM’s HSBB network, Unifi users will be able to opt for ViewQwest. Those who are already contracted with local internet service providers can opt for a RM500 rebate by the company.
What’s more, there is no requirement for additional deposits even if you’re a foreigner. And yes, you can also choose to sign up for ViewQwest without a contract.
While speed options and pricing will be heavily dependant on bandwidth available and the last mile used, ViewQwest is offering 100Mbps from RM138 a month and 1Gbps from RM198 a month with an option of signing a 24-month contract.
Don’t want to get tied down to a contract? You would have to fork out an additional RM20 a month for both plans. The home plan is priced at RM200 a month and it comes with unlimited internet quota coupled with static IP.
ViewQwest’s Group CEO Vignesa Moorthy says the company is also looking at joint ventures and acquisitions to further penetrate the market.
Is this solid good news Malaysians?
