Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz stunk up the joint again on Sunday in a 22-17 loss to the Cleveland Browns in the rain at First Energy Stadium in Cleveland, and Eagles fans weren’t the only ones calling for his benching.
Wentz was 21-for-35 for 235 yards, with two touchdown passes and two interceptions for a QB rating of 75.3. On of his interceptions was returned for a TD by Browns linebacker Sione Takitaki.
Wentz’s second TD pass was a 4-yarder to tight end Dallas Goedert with 30 seconds remaining, the Browns playing soft and the game all but over. He leads the NFL with 14 interceptions.
Wentz, who threw a red-zone interception late in the fourth quarter, also took a safety in the third quarter when he sat paralyzed in a collapsing pocket. Actually, we’re not sure Wentz threw away a single pass all day. Instead, he threw into coverage, missed open receivers and was sacked five times.
The Eagles fell to 3-6-1 but still lead the NFC East.
