Ting Internet Goes Big, Bringing Fiber to Aurora, Colorado

Ting Internet, a division of Tucows, is expanding its fiber internet services into Aurora, Colorado, its largest network build to date.

Once the buildout is completed, Ting will be able to supply fiber internet to more than 130,000 homes and business in the community.

Ting currently offers service in seven states and 14 markets across the country, including Centennial, Colorado, where it has operated since 2016. Other recent expansions include Colorado Springs and Colorado’s Western Slope.

Construction in Aurora is expected to begin early this summer, with initial internet access to start rolling out by the end of the year. Ting said it will focus on building critical relationships in the community, particularly during the early phases of the project.

“We are thrilled to bring the first city-wide fiber network to Aurora, allowing us to connect the entire community to the benefits of a network that has been purpose-built for the internet,” said Jill Szuchmacher, Ting Internet executive vice president, in a prepared statement about the Ting Internet Colorado expansion. “Fiber internet provides opportunities for step-change economic development and technological resilience in communities, both of which will benefit local residents and businesses for decades to come.”

Ting expanded into Tuscon, AZ in the fall, through its acquisition of Simply Bits, a fixed wireless network provider.
