It surprises me to see more people not interested to use a computer. I am sure you have some relatives who absolutely refuse to learn anything with a computer. They feel they are “too old” to get into the whole deal and this can be a very costly mistake they are making.
I was lucky enough to be born in the “computer age” but I still feel that adults need to learn how all of this stuff works. If you haven’t realized yet, technology is increasing at an ever growing rate. I recently saw a picture of computer that is built in to a pen. This stuff is crazy!
Learning how to use a computer is essential whether you want to keep in touch with family over the web, or maybe you just want to get a better job that needs computer skills. Learn this stuff will never hurt you!
But, being scared is what will kill your chances. I know it may be overwhelming but understand that you are the one that is making this the case.
To make things easier, break things down into simple parts. I know it may sound silly, but your first part should be on how to turn on a computer. (some people don’t know how to do this)
Then from there, learn how to log on. Then from there, learn your different command functions. It is all a process. If you break it down in a simple formula, you can see that it will be much more simpler for you to learn all of this stuff. Don’t just sit there and make excuses. That is most likely the worst thing that you can ever do.
I am now very advanced with computers but I didn’t start out like this. I couldn’t even check my email many years ago…but things change very fast when you have a consistent daily plan of action that you adapt to and follow.
Also, there are so many resources in your library and magazines that you can read to help you a lot your way. Try looking into one of those world famous “dummy” books because there is one on how to start using a PC.
