Shaker International, a Beachwood software-as-a-service (SaaS) company that provides pre-employment talent assessment services and that merged earlier this year with a Wisconsin company, is getting a new identity.
On Monday afternoon, Sept. 30, Shaker International and Montage, the Delafield, Wis.-based company it merged with in May, announced that the business will “unify under a new brand” called Modern Hire. The combined company is co-headquartered in Beachwood and Delafield, which is west of Milwaukee. A spokesperson for the company said there are about 80 employees at Shaker.
The new brand “reflects the company’s transformative approach to bringing proven technology and trusted science together in a single platform to make hiring personal,” the companies said in a news release. They added that the Modern Hire brand “combines the strength of Montage’s industry-leading SaaS interviewing technology, workflow automation and AI capabilities with Shaker International’s deep expertise in AI, predictive analytics and hiring assessments to create its comprehensive platform.”
Kurt Heikkinen, who had been CEO of Montage, now is CEO of Modern Hire. Shaker’s Brian Stern is president.
Stern and five other partners founded Shaker International in 2001.
Simultaneous with the new branding, Modern Hire announced a new product called Real-Time Interview Scoring that it said “enables organizations to more effectively and efficiently evaluate text, audio and video interviews.” The product uses “machine and deep learning models” to score candidate interview responses against the qualities deemed to be important for the job, according to Modern Hire.
