This week saw Epic Games provide their latest plans for the weeks to come.
A new developer roadmap is posted every few weeks, providing fans with a look at what’s coming next to the game.
And unfortunately for those players waiting a new influx of gamers to arrive, the Fortnite Save the World free codes was not listed.
That doesn’t mean there wasn’t anything to look forward to, with plenty of new content being planned for May and June by Epic Games.
“Since the last update we’ve released v.4.2 which introduced the Perk Recombobulator, added the option to upgrade Schematics, and introduced the Quad Launcher!” Epic Games explains in a recent post.
“We always appreciate your feedback, please keep it coming, and thank you for helping to make Fortnite such an awesome world to play in!”
The team confirmed that fans could look forward to Archaeolo-Jess – Outlander character added to the game next week, along with increased Flux in the Weekly store.
However, the last week of May will be when the best stuff arrives, with the development team revealing that the next blockbuster event is being released, with Spitfire’s story coming to conclusion.
Epic Games also teased that “a new mythic hero is born! (Stay tuned for more Blockbuster adventures in 4.4 and 4.5).”
There will also be the launch of the Tiger Assault Rifle in the weekly store, the Port-a-Fort Utility item and Voice Chat on PC.
And while it does rule out the possibility of the new free codes going live in May, there’s still the chance of something big popping up in June.
Epic Games’ latest roadmap doesn’t go past the next two weeks, meaning that the week of E3 2018 is open to more reveals.
The LA expo is being held in June and will include a long list of high-profile conferences.
These will be held by the likes of Xbox, PlayStation, Ubisoft and Nintendo, with plenty of others doing their own coverage.
There’s already hopes that the next big Fortnite reveal will be shown off on the Nintendo stage, so why not more news on Save the World?
And while these events will be watched by a lot of gamers, Epic Games have their own plans for E3.
The ultimate Fortnite Party Royale is being staged during the expo too, pairing some of the world’s greatest athletes and entertainers with top Fortnite Battle Royale players from across the globe.
“Teams will clash in the premier Fortnite Celebrity Pro-Am in Los Angeles during E3. One team will rise to the top for ultimate bragging rights. Who will claim Victory Royale? We’ll soon begin building the teams, so stay tuned for more information on the event.
“And one more thing… details on the first season of competitive play coming in the next few weeks!”
So by keeping their roadmap free of any June spoilers, it means there is still the chance of a big STW announcement being primed.
While it seems unlikely that Fortnite Save the World will go FTP in June, there are hopes that a release date could be revealed during the big gaming event.
For those who are already playing STW, Epic Games recently released some big news in how their changing key gameplay.
In patch v4.2, Epic Games introduced a new way for players to choose and upgrade the perk loadout for their favorite weapons and traps.
This will be through unlocking the Perk Recombobulator, which can be earned by completing Plankerton Storm Shield Defense 2.
