As the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s new product “Apple Watch” is heading closer to its release date, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) also starts showing off its own “Android Wear watches” to attract the interest of customers.
In this effort, the search giant, Google Inc (GOOGL) has also released a major update to its Android Wear smartwatches, by adding up more functionality to the wearable devices. In its official blog, search giant notes the changes of wearable devices, this includes a feature of ‘always-on apps’. Google’s smartwatch software has already contains an always-on screen feature that doesn’t let require the users to tap, shake, or twist the watch to see the time. But now, after the update, this feature will extend to its apps as well, so that they can stay visible as long as user needs them, as a replacement for of disappearing when user drops his arm.
On more interesting thing is that while having always-on apps won’t compromise on the battery, as the screen will only be of full color, when user are actively looking at it. Along with this, “always-on apps” updated feature now will support built-in Wi-Fi on the Android Wear that will allow users to receive notifications, use apps over data connection and send messages.
New update to Android Wear will let the users to just flick their wrist to scroll through the notification stream, and with a simple touch they will be able to start the apps and send messages. Over the next few weeks, Google Inc (GOOGL) says that these updates will be rolled out on all the seven Android Wear watches, starting from the new LG Watch Urbane.
Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s stock on 20 April traded at beginning with a price of $533.35 and when day-trade ended the stock finally increased 2.21% to end at $544.53. Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s showed weekly performance of -0.75%.
Return on Investment for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is 26.20% and on Monday its shares closed at $127.60. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) monthly performance stands at 0.08% while its year to date performance is 16.06%.
