Lafayette Jeff will take a two-game winning streak into the Franciscan Health Hoops Classic after Sanaa Cartledge and Ashlynn McTagertt led the Bronchos (2-2) to a 60-56 victory over Arsenal Tech Friday night.
The Bronchos overcame a 16-for-34 free throw effort thanks to McTagertt’s double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Cartledge poured in a game-high 24 points to go with eight rebounds.
► McCutcheon opened its season with a 58-43 victory over Logansport. Junior Daylynn Thorton led all scorers with 25 points, while Bailey Burton added nine points on three 3-pointers and Caitlyn Miller scored 10 for the Mavericks.
► Central Catholic improved to 2-0 behind 21 points from Karsyn Cherry in a 45-40 win over Clinton Prairie. Caroline Lutz added eight points for the Knights. Tynlie Neal led the Gophers with 14 points.
► Class 3A No. 1 Benton Central got 15 points and 11 rebounds in a 71-33 win over Seeger. Kelsey Coffman led the Bison with 22 points, while Tressa Senesac added 13 points and Kennedy Tolen added 12. Kiley White led with the Patriots with 12 points.
► Carroll had three double-digit scorers to edge Sheridan 46-43. Megan Wagner led the Cougars with 14 points, while Kelsey Hammond added 11 and Josie Unger scored 10.
► Caitlin Conn’s 11 points and six rebounds helped North White to a 50-29 victory over Caston. Olivia Allen scored a game-high 14 and Lynzi Heimlich contributed 10 points and five assists.
► Addi Ward‘s 20 points and seven rebounds helped Twin Lakes hand Delphi its first loss 46-31. Evelyn Scharer added 13 points for the Indians, while Haley Nelson scored nine points for Delphi.
