After placing a six-day hold on Virginia Tech’s game time against Pittsburgh, the ACC has announced when Virginia Tech’s final home game of the season will kick-off.
Virginia Tech will host the Pittsburgh Panthers on Saturday, November 23, at 3:30 on ESPN2.
The Hokies enter the contest off of a 45-0 win over Georgia Tech on Saturday afternoon. Pittsburgh defeated North Carolina in overtime on Thursday night, 34-27.
Both Virginia Tech and Pittsburgh are 7-3 (4-2 ACC) and a win would position either program closer to the ACC Championship game in December.
Virginia Tech is 10-8 all-time against Pittsburgh but the Hokies have won just two of the last five contests against the Panthers.
In 2018, Pittsburgh defeated Virginia Tech 52-22.
Virginia Tech is 2-1 against Pittsburgh under Justin Fuente.
Saturday will mark the final home contest of the season for Virginia Tech, meaning it will be the final time tenured defensive coordinator Bud Foster will call the Hokies defense inside Lane Stadium.
Foster is set to retire from coaching at the conclusion of the 2019 season.
With a win over Georgia Tech on Saturday, Virginia Tech controls their own destiny to reach the ACC Championship game.
