The Blossburg Memorial Library has launched a new website and will be holding special events for all ages in the coming months, including book clubs, Valentines crafts, and a free and public musical performance from a prestigious composer.
The library will host a special Valentine’s Day Preschool and Homeschool Story and Craft Hour Program on Tuesday, February 11, at 11 a.m. Parents and caregivers and children will socialize, listen to books, and be engaged in fun and educational activities.
The Blossburg Memorial Library’s next book club will be held on Tuesday, February 25, at 6 p.m. The club will discuss Take Me With You, a novel by Catherine Ryan Hyde. This novel tells the emotional story of an alcoholic reeling from the loss of his son on the journey to finally facing his pain – and forging a path to redemption. Anybody can join even if they haven’t read the book, so feel free to bring a friend! Stop by any time to check out a copy of the book.
Hold the date of Saturday, April 4 at 4 p.m.! The library will host “A Composer’s Afternoon” featuring pianist and composer Margin Alexander. Mr. Alexander has performed all around the world at notable places such as Carnegie Hall and Musee d’art Moderne et d’art Contemporain de Nice. Film music and contemporary music with neo-classical nuances are some of his most recent projects. Welcome Mr. Alexander to Blossburg and enjoy an afternoon of his music.
Following Alexander’s performance will be a small reception with refreshments. This special concert is free and open to the public thanks to a generous donation by the Friends of the Blossburg Memorial Library. The program is open to everybody including groups and students.
