The new website shows the coverage levels, documentation needed, and questions to ask your insurance agent

LANSING, MI (WTVB) – Big changes are coming to auto insurance in Michigan in July 2020, as coverage levels allowing drivers to opt out of the current mandatory lifetime medical benefit coverage become available.
To help navigate the changes, the state Department of Insurance and Financial Services has launched a new website.
The website shows the coverage levels, documentation needed, and questions to ask your insurance agent.
State officials say Michigan has the highest auto insurance rates in the nation, with the unique no-fault law and the lifetime medical coverage being the reason.
