The state Republican Party and Governor Charlie Baker’s political committee today launched a new website at CharlieBakerMA.com — the former gubernatorial campaign site — aimed at allowing people to engage with the governor using social media and email, a party spokesman says.
It’s part of the Massachusetts GOP’s effort to build a more unified presence online, according to party communications director Terry MacCormack.

“We’re going to use the site and our email list to build support for the governor’s agenda, and people who sign up and sign our petitions will be integrated into our supporter network as we build our team for the years ahead,” he said.
MacCormack added it will give the party a sense of how supporters engage with Baker across social media platforms, such as Facebook and Twitter.
Baker has held a handful of fundraisers since taking office and continues to have campaign staff. According to the state’s Office of Campaign and Political Finance, he raised more than $300,000 between taking office on Jan. 8 and April 15.
In an interview with the Globe in January, Baker declined to say whether he was planning to run for re-election in 2018.
A recent poll found Baker had a stratospheric 74 percent favorable rating among registered voters in the traditionally Democratic state.
